This seminar will explore the performance indicators and their relationship to economic and environmental sustainability in the intensive production of beef cattle (feedyards), as well as conventional and disruptive techniques and technologies available today.

• The use of smart-farming tools to improve cattle productivity and sustainability.

Bio:
Dr. Tedeschi is a Professor, Texas A&M AgriLife Research Fellow, and Chancellor EDGES Fellow at the Department of Animal Science. Tedeschi has received more than 10 prestigious awards for his achievements. Tedeschi served on the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) committee to re-engineer the 2016 Beef Cattle Nutrients Requirement publication and model. This achievement was enabled by the novel concept of energy partitioning of the bioenergetics of growing cattle, an idea that Tedeschi established in the early 2000s and has continued to build on. In the last decade, he has advanced the in silico experimentation of such discoveries through modeling and simulation to progress ruminant nutrition.
